Biography
My Boonchuvong Walther is a Swedish–Thai visual storyteller working with directing, photography and editing.
Born and raised in Helsingborg, Sweden, her creative journey began in a city shaped by many cultures, where music, dance, and different traditions gathered together. Growing up between Swedish and Thai cultures, she developed an early curiosity about people, identity and how we express who we are.
Her interest for photography began during her teenage years, it started with identity explorations through self-portraits where she felt that she could be completely present and focus on lighting, colours and expression. It was very particular in wanting to catch a feeling or emotion over just capturing an image. She later studied photography in Sweden before moving to Norway where she took her Bachelor’s degree in Film & TV.
My’s work is deeply rooted in an exploration of identity, culture and the human experience. Her visual aesthetic is influenced by her love for cinema, nature and history. She is drawn to atmosphere, imperfection and honesty.
